How does the business operate on a daily basis?
The business is located at a popular family orientated boutique centre, with a number of other retail shops at the centre including well established craft and clothing shops. This enhances foot traffic and activity around the Salon. Although it is surrounded by a cluster of other shops and draw cards, the business does not rely entirely on this foot traffic and stands on its own with its regular clientele. The shop itself has been renovated and constantly updated to ensure there is a proper space for each treatment and that the customer feels relaxed and comfortable in a tranquil environment.
How are the clients attracted to the business?
A large clientele base makes word of mouth a large generator of new business but the Salon does carry out various marketing campaigns, with 70% on clients being return business.

What competition exists?
Ballito and its surrounding areas are growing fast and there are a number of beauty salons which offer competition, however the Salon is unique due to its ability to service its customers by offering them a full set of beauty treatments, which is unlike any other beauty business in Ballito. There have been various beauty businesses that have opened and closed in the last 3 years but this Salon continues to grow at a rapid rate. The business shows originality and the brand is fun â this stands out from the rest of what is out there in the market place. Recent upgrades to local centres and the introduction of a large mall have had very little effect on turnover with profits showing a steady increase on last year.
What are the seasonal trends?
With 70% of it's business being return business from it's circa 1700 client database, the Salon does not suffer too much from seasonal trends, however holidays do account for some seasonality.
