How does the business operate on a daily basis?
Biolink is a relatively simple business model, consisting primarily of two elements namely a) screening tests for identification of attentional difficulties with subsequent follow up assessments and b) the facilitation of the Play Attention training therapy through the neuro-feedback lessons (training will be provided).
Screening tests are done on appointment at the learning center. Under special circumstances larger group assessments can be done. Up to 10 learners can be accommodated per day.
The owner / manager / facilitator needs to see to it that all equipment, files etc. are in good working order, sessions are set up correctly and commence accordingly on arrival. It is absolutely necessary that a facilitator is available to assist learners during these sessions.
During âfree timeâ appointments, meetings and calls can be conducted to follow up or introduce and market the Biolink system to other schools, medical practitioners and organizations within the educational support sector to expand the customer base. There are additional business facets like the Reading Hub (included in the package) that can be added.
How are the clients attracted to the business?
Biolink is arguably the market-leader in its business space. Play Attention is the gold standard of current educational neuro-feedback devices. Clients will come primarily through early referral from teachers, medical practitioners or some marketing medium therefore brand awareness is key. In many instances people are looking for alternative therapy. The agency also receives referrals from the national website.
What Advertising/Marketing is carried out?
The services are marketed to the general public, learning centres (schools, etc) and business-associated medical practitioners, all leading to clients. The licensor does national and other marketing whilst the agency does its own distribution, either through electronic media, social media or direct advertising through schools, medical practices and other learning centres. The agency may have its own website to design accordingly, and which will be linked to the HO website. FB pages are popular with a good following. Biolink usually has a stand at the annual education convention at CTICC.
Does the business have any contract work?
Each learner signs up for a specified number of lessons which is paid for in advance or monthly. Appropriate contract between Biolink HO and agency applied for will have to be discussed further.
What competition exists?
This business is very unique in the sense that the technology does not exist elsewhere in the education market. The approach and advanced systems places it almost in a league of its own. Nothing else uses this direct of a measurement and training tool.
What are the seasonal trends?
The business is very much tied-in with educational calendars. You choose how to operate around the school year. Admissions and assessments will continue year-round.
