History & Background

The Tax Shop came into existence in December 2002. It was originally established to offer an alternative to individuals who wanted to have their taxes dealt with professionally, conveniently and at low cost.

Traditionally, individual taxpayers had to deal with their tax affairs on their own or utilise the services of accountants and/or auditors, often at great complication and cost.

The Tax Shop was initially created to fill this gap in the market. Following expansion of vision and the introduction of numerous products and services, the franchise currently services individuals, corporates and government.

While The Tax Shop still focuses intently on individual taxpayers, rapid expansion within the franchise has lead to the introduction of various new services which now cater for individuals and corporates alike.

The Tax Shop acts as an important link between clients and various statutory bodies such as SARS, CIPC, government institutions such as the Department of Labour and local municipalities.

This link is a significant function as clients often prefer not to deal directly with these bodies. Further services are added to The Tax Shop as additional needs are identified.
